Beginners Classes
These are held on four Monday nights, commencing 3 February 2020, from 7.30pm to 9.00pm. They are especially for people who have never danced before or have danced a long time ago and need a refresher. As dancing gets you moving, you will warm up quickly, so wear cool clothing. To start with you can wear soft soled shoes – the thinner the better.
Downloadable information sheets outlining the material covered in the beginner classes are posted here:

Saturday Night Social Dancing
There are 11 clubs in Wellington and each Club runs an annual evening function on a Saturday or an afternoon function on a Sunday. These social dance events are open to all dancers but are most suitable for those who have been dancing for at least a year.
Weekend and Summer Schools
Several weekend schools are run each year in different parts of New Zealand. These are an enjoyable way for dancers to improve their dancing by participating in classes aimed at their particular level. The weekend school programme also includes social dance functions at night, which provide the opportunity to mix with other dancers from across the region. Weekend schools are also often attended by dancers from other regions of the country and even Australia.
Each year a residential Summer School is held. These are in different places each year and alternate between the North and South Islands. While the majority of people attending come from New Zealand, there is usually a good contingent of people from overseas – Australia, England, Scotland, Japan etc.
